Little Crimsons, Travelling and Saving the World.

A month long preparation has been done by our Little Crimsons for our United Nations last October 25, 2016. They recited “Trees” by Joyce Kilmer and performed 3 songs of “It’s a Small World”, “Count on Me” and “If I were a Butterfly”. Now, they really need those days just to make everything perfect and playful.

Our Little Crimsons’ costumes were incredibly prepared when we all see them on the event. They gave us “Wow’s” and awe on how they brought their costumes in an audience. Even if some are struggling because of some props, they were very patient for their turns to get on the stage. For additional entertainment, our event were hosted by Mr. Amiel and Teacher Janet. How was their hosting skills, can they start their own talk show? Haha!

We awarded some of our Little Crimsons for their great display of their costumes and for impressing all of us on how they delivered the elocution piece well.
We hope all our parents enjoyed our program and help us all keep our Little Crimsons be healthy and eat our “superfood!”

Our adorable Little Crimsons as cute as ever especially in different costumes.

October 15, 2016 Open House

Last October 15, 2016, Little Harvard Academy held on open house with a galactic theme- Superheroes. As preparation, the children made colorful wrist cuffs, masks, and capes as part of their art work headed by Teacher Yanah. LHA was decorated with child size stand up heroes which also served as favorite photo ops spots for the kids and their parents. Familiar call-outs adorned the walls, reminiscent of comic books of the past.

Teacher Kriszy gathered the children for a storytelling session entitled “Pajama Girl“—a girl who also became a superhero in her dream. For emphasis, Teacher Kriszy drove home the point that we can’t all be superheroes but we can be a little hero in our own way; doing not the big things like saving the universe, but doing our part to make our world a better place to live in. Small acts such as being kind to others, picking up our trash, and taking care of the environment make us a real-life superhero.

Career Day 2016

When I Grow Up, I Want To Be A/An…

Play is very important to a child’s growth. It widens their imagination and improves their socialization with other kids. This also helps them to have a sense of responsibility with everyday work. That is the reason we had our career day last September 23, 2016. They had a chance to express their dream jobs.

Be amazed of what they actually want to be in the future.

Jungle, Doodle, Zoo!

What a day last Tuesday, August 23, 2016! The little crimsons got to experience a fun and exciting day at a place where the jungle meets the farm and the zoo, and it is none other than the Little Harvard Academy. They celebrated their animal culminating activity entitled “Jungle-Doodle-Zoo”. The activity area was decorated with different animals that they can see in the jungle, farm, and zoo including sea creatures. To add more uniqueness and flair to the room, the arts and crafts made by the pupils were also exhibited.

They had a blast doing different games and activities. The children pretended to be like animals namely a giraffe, monkey, elephant, fox, raccoon, rabbit, and a panda. They also wore headbands to play their chosen animal. They sang along and danced to the music about animals. They also got to reminisce their trip to the zoo and bonding time with their pets through a video presentation.

For the first activity, they took a picture in the shark photobooth. Some pupils really took it seriously and got pretty scared of the shark. It was followed by a series of games and the first one was called “Pin the Tail on the Bunny”. The students were blindfolded and asked to pin the tail on the bunny to complete its body parts. The second game was called “Farm Bowling with a twist”. Instead of bowling pins we used cones and stacked them up to form a pyramid and their goal was to hit it with all force using a ball for the cones to fall down. The last part of the animal culminating activity was a special treat for the pupils of LHA. They got to see a real horse and ride a kalesa. The kutsero patiently drove the kalesa along the street of LHA and all the pupils enjoyed it as much as the teachers did.

Mooncake Festival Activity

Happy Mooncake Festival!

We had a twoday celebration of the MidAutumn Festival or popularly known as Mooncake Festival. On September 21st, the kids learned about the legend of the festival. The teacher explained to the kids why we celebrate this day and they also watched a movie about the Mooncake Festival.
Everyone went to school wearing their favorite red clothes!

The next day was the day of having the real FUN!  We had our Mooncake Festival Activity.  First, the kids made their own beautiful and colorful Chinese lanterns.  They chose their own decorations to decorate their lanterns--they were so proud to hang them!
The kiddies made their own Chinese paper lanterns!
Afterwards, the most awaited part of our festival is the Mooncake dice game.  The kids were already excited to see all the nice and enticing prizes that we prepared for them..
Everyone took home mini Mooncakes to try! Yum!
Roll the dice~!
Our Little Crimsons having fun playing the dice game!

The teachers helped the kids play the dice game by holding the big bowl for them as they threw the six dice inside the bowl.  The kids were very excited to see the dice rolled and stopped.  Each kid was able to bring home various prizes. But our 3 Grand Prize Winners or “Chiong Guan” were Gaby of N2 and Yvonne and Jillian of N1.
 Congratulations!!!
