Jungle, Doodle, Zoo!
What a day last Tuesday, August 23, 2016! The little crimsons got to experience a fun and exciting day at a place where the jungle meets the farm and the zoo, and it is none other than the Little Harvard Academy. They celebrated their animal culminating activity entitled “Jungle-Doodle-Zoo”. The activity area was decorated with different animals that they can see in the jungle, farm, and zoo including sea creatures. To add more uniqueness and flair to the room, the arts and crafts made by the pupils were also exhibited.
They had a blast doing different games and activities. The children pretended to be like animals namely a giraffe, monkey, elephant, fox, raccoon, rabbit, and a panda. They also wore headbands to play their chosen animal. They sang along and danced to the music about animals. They also got to reminisce their trip to the zoo and bonding time with their pets through a video presentation.
For the first activity, they took a picture in the shark photobooth. Some pupils really took it seriously and got pretty scared of the shark. It was followed by a series of games and the first one was called “Pin the Tail on the Bunny”. The students were blindfolded and asked to pin the tail on the bunny to complete its body parts. The second game was called “Farm Bowling with a twist”. Instead of bowling pins we used cones and stacked them up to form a pyramid and their goal was to hit it with all force using a ball for the cones to fall down. The last part of the animal culminating activity was a special treat for the pupils of LHA. They got to see a real horse and ride a kalesa. The kutsero patiently drove the kalesa along the street of LHA and all the pupils enjoyed it as much as the teachers did.
